Today I dropped off LJ at her weekly playgroup (mini-kindergarten). And she proudly said for everyone to hear:
"P is nicht da".
=P is not here.
A perfectly formed little sentence wholly in German. I felt proud.
She rarely uses German at home (except when singing) as we don't speak it. I knew she was making progress as I had overheard a few words here and there. But this is very reassuring for a mum speaking a minority language at home. I am sure some of you can relate.
